In this fun, relaxing one day workshop you will be introduced to some of the techniques for creating traditional Japanese style bindings.
Faye will guide you through the steps to make a set of notebooks in three sizes, each with a different binding style.
You will also learn some simple printing and collage techniques to create decorative cover papers to make each of the books you make truly unique.
Japanese book binding is a creative way to make your own books or to make gifts for friends and family. It is also a great technique for creating artist or books as works of art.

In this hands on, one day workshop you will be shown how to create a casebound, hardcover sketchbook.
The sketchbook will have sewn sections from 300GSM watercolour paper and a hand painted, paper bound, hard cover.
As an added bonus Faye will guide you through the process of creating a bamboo drawing pen and introduce you some of the techniques for drawing with ink.
Once mastered, the techniques you will learn in this unique workshop, can be built upon and used for a variety of creative book making projects.

This one day workshop is the perfect introduction to the art of making and binding books. Faye will show you how to make a variety of hand made books that can be used for creative practice in all areas of artistic and creative practice or for the simple pleasure of making them for yourself or as gifts for friends..

Faye will guide you through processes to make two hand made books in very different techniques and introduce you to the basics of
creative bookmaking and binding.
Once mastered, the techniques you will learn in this unique and fun workshop, can be built upon and used for a variety of creative book making projects.
